Objectives

WP4 is dedicated to research and training, mainly through the implementation of a total of 101 secondment-months. It is designed to typify the function of selected candidate genes for apomixis that belong to either transcriptional or post-transcriptional regulatory pathways, and to analyze the occurrence of changes in the epigenome of the respective mutants/transformants.

Deliverables

D4.1: List of candidate genes validated across several apomictic species by using the transcriptomic data available from previous projects.
D4.2: List of mutants/genetically modified lines with repressed or enhanced activity of genes involved in the sexuality-apomixis switch.
D4.3: List of regulatory regions in megasporogenesis, megagametogenesis and embryo patterning genes showing deposition of epigenetic marks involved in their transcriptional or post-transcriptional regulation.
D4.4: List of rice/maize/Paspalum mutants obtained through CRISPR/Cas.
D4.5: List of genes showing alterations in post-transcriptional splicing and functional analysis of selected candidates.
